The city of Pune is increasing day by day, changing and at the center of this change. There has been a comforting news to speed up the daily journey of Pune. The metro route from Vanaz to Ramwadi is now expanding and the central government has approved this ambitious project.
This decision will give the East and West Puneers a chance to better connect each other through the metro and yes, the time on the journey will be saved to a large extent.
The Union Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given official approval to this extended phase. There are two new metro routes from Vanaz to Chandani Chowk and Ramwadi to Wagholi or Vitthalwadi. Earlier, the Maharashtra government had approved these routes, and Punekar was waiting for the final affidavit from the central government. Now the wait is over.
In this new extension, the Wannaz to Chandni Chowk will have a approximately 1.5 km long route, which will have two stops – Kothrud PMT depot and Chandani Chowk. On the other hand, the route from Ramwadi to Wagholi is 5.5 km and 3 stations are proposed.
It will provide metro connectivity to quickly growing areas like Khardi Bypass, Wagholi and Vitthalwadi. The length of the entire project will be about 1.5 km and a total of 5 stations will be erected.
The extension is expected to cost around Rs. The state government has approved the issue of giving its share in March 7, and the decision is now being taken into account.
This metro line will be very beneficial for city transport. Since the citizens of Kothrud, Chandani Chowk, Kharadi, Bawdhan and Wagholi will have a direct connection with the metro, Punekar’s journey will be more comfortable.
Many will change their daily journey, especially those who go to these areas for the office or college. It will take about four years to complete the project. But once the route begins, the number of passengers will increase rapidly.
There were about 90 thousand passengers on this route in the 5th, while the number is likely to rise to 5 lakh. It is estimated that the same number will reach around 1.5 lakh. Maha-Metro will carry out the responsibility of the project and civil, electro-mechanical and other necessary work have also been planned.
