Filming has officially commenced on the second series of the BBC's hit show We Might Regret This, much to the delight of fans.

The show, which premiered in autumn 2024, revolves around tetraplegic artist Freya (Kyla Harris) as she relocates to London to be with her partner Abe (Darren Boyd), a charming silver fox.

However, their domestic bliss is soon disrupted by Freya's free-spirited friend Jo (Elena Saurel), who tags along and assumes the role of Freya's full-time carer, resulting in an unconventional blended family setup.

The initial six-part series captivated audiences, who eagerly anticipated the next chapter in Freya and Abe's romance. Now, the BBC has confirmed that production is underway in London, with new additions to the cast.

A synopsis of the upcoming series reads: "The second series, filming in London, is set against the backdrop of Freya and Abe's recent engagement. As the couple dive headfirst into wedding planning, it quickly becomes clear that their views on marriage-and visions for the big day-aren't always aligned."

"Tensions rise as they navigate the high-stress world of wedding prep, further complicated by Freya's agents, The Olivias (Emma Sidi and Hanako Footman), who enlist the couple in a wedding-themed content creation campaign focused on disability inclusion."

An overview also hints at trouble brewing, as Abe confronts his complicated past with Jo while struggling with trust issues after discovering Jo and Freya together, reports Surrey Live.

Jo and Freya seem to rekindle their connection, while Abe grapples with their history, trying to progress alongside a key person in Freya's life.

The upcoming series is set to welcome Sophie Thompson as Beanie McElroy, a prominent designer in alternative bridal fashion, who joins forces with Kyla on her wedding attire.

Edward Bluemel, Sally Phillps, Aasiya Shah, and Lolly Adefope are all returning to their roles, much to the delight of fans.

Kyla Harris and Lee Getty couldn't contain their enthusiasm, commenting: "We're beyond excited to be back on set with series two of We Might Regret This! Expect more laughs, hard truths and nipples."

The show has earned acclaim since its debut, with one fan commenting: "Absolutely brilliant!! Fantastic cast, wonderful writing, such a brilliant new show. Looking forward to season 2"

Another fan praised: "I really enjoyed this show. Smart, funny, pathos. Love it" Meanwhile, another viewer remarked: "Ace, about time we watched some real disabled issues. Well done BBC."

One particular viewer related personally, sharing: "Very funny and, as someone who was a PA for a person in a wheelchair (who used to do ads too! ) this was very relatable! Great cast and very funny script."

We Might Regret This is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
