Kadapa: A 62-year-old woman died after an electric bike that was charging, suddenly exploded, tv9 telugu reported. The incident occurred in Potladurthi, Yarraguntla mandal, Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh.

The victim identified as Venkata Lakshmamma, parked the bike for charging at night in the courtyard of her home and slept in the vicinity of the bike. She was injured severely and died on the spot.

Authorities are investigating whether the plug point used for charging and the vehicle itself has defects. Local police have reached the scene and started an investigation. A forensic team has been called in to investigate the cause of the vehicle explosion. The vehicle manufacturer has also been informed, they said.
