Blood Group Type: A different kind of blood group has been discovered in the world. The interesting thing is that only one known person has been found with this blood group till now. The blood of the other 47 blood groups does not match with the patient with this blood group. French researchers have discovered a new blood group in humans.

French researchers (EFS) have described it as an ultra-rare blood group, which has been found in a Guadelipean woman. Researchers say that this is the 48th blood group discovered in the world so far. Identification of blood group is very important in blood transfusion and organ transplantation. Blood group is helpful in detecting certain types of diseases.

By identifying the blood group, doctors can detect the risk between the donor and the recipient beforehand. According to the American health organization US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 14 million units of blood are transfused every year in the US alone. Apart from the common A, B and O groups, there are many rare blood groups in the world. The International Society of Blood Transfusion has also approved this new blood group.

The French organization said that this blood group has been named Gwada negative and till now only one woman has been found who has this blood group.

Research to identify this blood group began in 2011, when the woman needed a blood transfusion. But the blood group of no donor matched hers. The researchers then tried to increase her hemoglobin in the normal way and after eight years of research and DNA sequencing, identified her new blood group in 2019. But it has been fully recognized only after 14 years.

Medical biologists of the French organization EFS said that on examination in 2011, a very unusual antibody was found in the blood of that patient. This was identified during the medical test before the surgery of that 54-year-old woman. But her operation had to be stopped due to mismatch of blood group. Doctors claim that the woman must have got her blood group from the mutated genes of her parents. The work of identifying the rare blood group of ABO group in the world started in 1900.
