In the first Test match played in Leeds between India and England, Rishabh Pant made history with the bat. He made a unique record by scoring a century in both innings. He became the first and world’s second wicketkeeper batsman to do so by playing 134 runs in the first innings and 118 runs in the second.

Opinion of Greg Chappell: “Pant is changing the definition of game”
Former Australian captain and former India coach Greg Chappell praised Pant and said,
“When I first saw Rishabh, they remind me of Gilchrist. His way of playing is a different, but the effect is the same – the match is winning. He is giving a new look to cricket.”
He said that Pant’s ability to score fast runs gives India time to win the match. According to him, many of Pant’s shots are not found in the traditional book of MCC – but they are very impressive and unexpected.

Pant is the second wicketkeeper to score a century in both innings of the Test. Earlier, the Andy Flower of Zimbabwe did such a feat against South Africa in 2001 (142 and 199 not out).
