Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the electricity rate will be reduced by 26 percent in a phased manner in the next 5 years. It will start with a 10 percent reduction in the first year. Giving information, the CM of Maharashtra said that this decision has been taken after the approval of Maharashtra State Electricity Regulatory Commission.

MERC accepted the petition of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited in which demands to reduce electricity rates. Although most of the time companies demanded to increase electricity rates, but for the first time Mahavitaran filed a petition to reduce the rates and that too was approved.

Giving information on X, Maharashtra CM wrote that, for the first time in the history of the state, electricity rates will be reduced by 10% in the first year and a total rates will be reduced by up to 26% in 5 years. Common people will get the most benefit from this. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also informed that this deduction in tariffs in electricity will be applicable to all three category domestic, industrial and commercial customers. The special thing is that in Maharashtra, about 70 percent of the customers are used by 100 units less electricity every month.
