New Delhi: In heartbreaking news, Shefali Jariwala, best known for her hit song ‘Kaanta Laga’ and stint on Bigg Boss 13has passed away at the age of 42. According to Times of India reports, the actress suffered a cardiac arrest on the night of June 27, 2025 and was declared dead by the hospital on arrival. Reportedly, her husband, Parag Tyagi, rushed her to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai around 11:25 pm on Friday.
According to the staff at the hospital reception, Shefali passed away before she was brought in by her husband, Parag, and three others. However, there is no official statement from her family as of yet. The actress-model Shefali Jariwala was reportedly suffering from epilepsy, which is a neurological disorder that can cause recurrent and unprovoked seizures.

Several celebrities mourned the sudden death of Shefali, including Aly Goni, Rajiv Adatia and others. While Aly Goni wrote, “RIP”, Rajiv posted, “This is so sad”.
Meanwhile, she made her last Instagram post just three days ago from a photoshoot where she was seen clad in a blingy jumpsuit. She captioned the post, “Bling it on baby!”.
She rose to fame with the iconic 2002 music video, Kaanta Laga, and was popularly known as the Kaanta Laga girl. She also featured in other music videos, including ‘Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar’ by DJ Doll. She also participated in reality TV shows such as Boogie Woogie (2008), Nach Baliye 5 and Nach Baliye 7, where she partnered with her husband, Parag Tyagi.
She gained national fame once again with her stint on Salman Khan-hosted show Bigg Boss 13. She made her television debut with the 2024 show, Shaitani Rasmein. In 2004, she also featured in Salman Khan-starrer movie, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and went on to feature in films, including Huduguru, baby come naa and Ratri ke yatri.
She is survived by her husband, Parag Tyagi.
