According to the post, the “dream job” is that of a lighthouse keeper at the historic Lighthouse of Alexandria in Egypt. It claims the role offers a staggering annual salary of Rs 30 crore (around £2.8 million), and all you need to do is ensure the lighthouse remains lit. The job is described as peaceful and solitary, with no human contact, no rush and the freedom to sleep whenever you want.

It even adds that only a basic Class 10 education is required, apart from some technical know-how. The lighthouse itself is romanticised as an ancient wonder, surrounded by dangerous seas and constant storms.

But is this job real?

Fact-checkers and experts have debunked the claims. First, there is no job currently offered at the Lighthouse of Alexandria. Some versions of the story mention the ‘Zumon Lighthouse’ in France, but no such place officially exists.

Moreover, the mentioned lighthouse is fully automated and doesn’t require keepers at all. The claimed Rs 30 crore salary is wildly inaccurate. In reality, keeper salaries at lighthouses where the role still exists typically range between $40,000 and $60,000 annually.

So while the idea of a peaceful, high-paying job with zero stress is enticing, this viral post is pure fiction. The truth, unfortunately, is far less glamorous. And it doesn’t come with crores in your bank account.
