Manchester United look set to spend huge amounts this summer as Ruben Amorim attempts to transfer his squad. The Red Devils have already forked out around £60m this summer for the signing of Matheus Cunha.

But United’s business is not over yet. They continue to chase Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo and are closing in on a deal for the Cameroon forward.

A defender, a striker and a new midfielder could also be on the agenda before the end of the window so it could be a very hectic few months. Exits may also be important as United chiefs attempt to finance their dramatic rebuild.

Loanees Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony, among others, have all been linked with permanent exits. With that being said, take a look at the latest transfer news and rumours from the red half of Manchester.

Mbeumo deadline set

Ruben Amorim is keen for Man United to complete a deal for Brentford star Mbeumo sooner rather than later. They are hopeful of getting a move over the line in time for the forward to join in with pre-season.

United have submitted a second bid in the region of around £55m to sign Mbeumo but there is still a delay over the potential add-ons Brentford could receive. The Bees want the deal to reach as much as £63m.

Mbeumo has already reportedly agreed personal terms with his new employers and is set to bank around £200,000 per week during his time at Old Trafford. United’s pre-season starts on July 7.

Newcastle make Rashford call

Newcastle are NOT interested in signing Marcus Rashford despite the Magpies lining up a huge transfer splurge. Eddie Howe’s men are very keen in adding to their attacking options this summer.

Newcastle are set to spend heavily this summer and have identified Anthony Elanga and Joao Pedro. And despite Rashford being available for around £40m this summer, Newcastle do not have the United forward among their list of targets.

Rashford spent the second-half of last season on loan with Aston Villa, scoring four goals in 17 appearances, with the Midlands side choosing against signing him permanently.

Heaton pens new deal

Man United have confirmed that veteran goalkeeper Tom Heaton has signed a new deal at Old Trafford. He has penned a one-year extension to his current deal.

He said: "I am extremely proud to continue to represent Manchester United. As a group, we are all really excited for the season ahead. I am ready to support the team in every capacity as we prepare to get back to challenging for the biggest honours.”

Heaton, an Old Trafford academy graduate, has been with United since 2021. He has made three appearances since then.
