Dismissal of Senior Officials Following Controversial Party

The airport service management firm, Air India SATS Services (AISATS), has terminated four senior executives for hosting a party at the office.

This decision comes in the wake of a video surfacing that showed the executives celebrating shortly after an Air India aircraft accident, which drew widespread criticism from various sectors.

AISATS is a joint venture between the Tata Group's Air India and Singapore's SATS Limited. In a statement released on Friday, AISATS announced that it had taken "strict disciplinary action" against those responsible for the party, although specific details were not disclosed.

A source indicated that the company dismissed the four senior officials due to their direct involvement in organizing the event. The statement from the company expressed solidarity with the families affected by the AI-171 crash and conveyed deep regret over the lapse shown in the recent internal video. It emphasized that such behavior does not align with the company's values, and strict disciplinary measures were enforced against those accountable.

The company did not specify the date of the party. A video clip showing several AISATS employees dancing at the office recently went viral, leading to significant backlash on social media. The tragic Air India incident on June 12 in Ahmedabad resulted in the loss of 270 lives, including all 241 passengers on board.
