Could this BE any more iconic? Lisa Kudrow’s cult-favourite series The Comeback, yes, the one where she plays the brilliantly cringey Valerie Cherish, is officially making a comeback, this time for Season 3. And here's the kicker: the show now spans three seasons across three decades: 2005, 2014, and now, 2026! Guess this is what Lisa's character Phoebe meant when she introduced the term 'lobsters' - The Comeback and Kudrow are definitely the endgame who keep returning to each other.
The Comeback is back again
HBO just confirmed that Kudrow and co-creator Michael Patrick King are reuniting for a so-called 'final season.' But if there's anything
The Comeback has taught us, it's never to trust a final goodbye. After all, Valerie always finds a way back to the spotlight. The show first aired in 2005, just after Kudrow wrapped up
Friends, and was initially dismissed by critics for being too dark, too real, and too ahead of its time. But it aged like fine wine. The 2014 revival earned Emmy nods and newfound respect for its razor-sharp satire of Hollywood's obsession with fame, reality TV, and the way it treats women in the business.
Season 3 picks up in 2026 (production begins this summer), with Kudrow returning as Valerie, along with Dan Bucatinsky, Laura Silverman, and Damian Young. Sadly, the beloved Robert Michael Morris, who played Valerie’s stylist Mickey, passed away in 2017.

What is Lisa up to?
Aside from plotting a 'comeback', what’s Kudrow been up to lately? She’s kept busy with eclectic roles, from
Better Nate Than Ever to The Parenting, Time Bandits, and
No Good Deed. But let’s be real: nothing hits like her raw, awkward, painfully hilarious turn as Valerie Cherish. It reminds fans why her portrayal of Phoebe Buffay as the awkward eccentric was so funny in
Friends.
