Kiderpore metro station: The government of West Bengal has removed the land obstacles in the construction of Kiderpore Metro Station of Joka-Splanade Metro Line. For information, let us know that Kiderpara Metro Station is a proposed underground station on the purple line of Kolkata Metro, which is currently under construction.

Explain that 837 sqm land which was required for construction of station in the bodyguard lines of Kolkata Armed Police, has now been handed over to the railway. Also, let us know that this land was necessary for ventilation shafts, entry exhaust structures, utility transfer and traffic davoron. Now through this move, the 14 km long Joka-Epland Metro project will be accelerated which was earlier facing delays due to land acquisition and permission issues.

Currently this line is operational for 8 kilometers from Joka to Majherhat. Railway Development Corporation Limited (RVNL) is working on this project which will now speed up station construction. This station will be built under the Diamond Harbor Road and is considered the cheapest station of the purple line. Explain that this project is expected to be completed within four years. This line will connect the southwestern parts of Kolkata to the central trading sector, which will provide smooth and convenient traffic to the passengers.

Explain that this 14 km metro line is already from Joka to Majherhat, but the part from Kiderpore to Asplaynade will be underground. Railway Development Corporation Limited has started construction of shift for tunnel boring machines in the ground of St. Thomas School. The project will help in connecting the south-western areas of Kolkata such as Thakurpukur and Behera to the central parts of the city. Not this project will connect with three lines of Kolkata Metro-North-South, East-West and Purple-Coalnade and this will further enhance Shah’s connectivity.
