New Delhi: A CEO took to LinkedIn to share an unconventional leave application sent by an employee. She claimed that it delighted her. Somya Garg, the Gurugram-based CEO and founder of Talk & Target, was shocked when she first saw the email, which said, “Main to jaa rahi hoon,” in the headline. Fortunately, it was not a resignation letter as she anticipated.

Garg shared a screenshot of the unconventional email on social media. The CEO revealed that the email initially skipped a heart attack. The CEO admitted that the mail sent by Senior Copywriter Kritika Singh felt like a resignation. However, when she read the rest of the email, the CEO was relieved to know that Singh was just taking some time off to go to the mountains.

Employee’s casual leave application shocks CEO at first; here’s what happens after

“Heart skipped a beat. Turns out – she just wanted a day off to head to the mountains. Signed off the email with ‘Thanks cutiees. Bye.’ In a world of stiff professional emails, this one made my week,” wrote Garg on LinkedIn.

The candid leave application had a lot of fans on social media. Some spoke of how the application showcased the copywriter’s creativity, while others claimed it was a reflection of the good workplace vibes.

One wrote, “From ‘notice period’ vibes to ‘just need a mountain break’ in 2 seconds flat. Glad it was just a mini escape! Love when coworkers bring personality to the inbox!” A second person stated, “Ah a copy writer, obviously makes sense. And have a license to show creativity everywhere.” A third individual commented, “This email itself is an example of cool work culture! It portrays an open communication within the employees and the management. Such relationships within an organization definitely is very positive and is productive to the organization in a long run! Hats Off to such a leader!!” (sic)
