He took to Instagram to share his feelings, stating, 'Being away in Europe right now, it’s painful for me not to be able to be there for the last rites.'

He extended his condolences to Shefali's family, saying, 'Gone far too soon. I pray to the Almighty for her soul to rest in peace, and strength to the family during this unimaginable time.'

Shefali and Harmeet tied the knot in 2004 after a brief courtship, but their marriage was short-lived. Following their separation, Shefali began a relationship with actor Parag Tyagi, and they married in 2014 after dating for four years.
