Guru Kripa's website which once proudly mentioned that "we're only based in Sion", no longer holds true. Sion's beloved restaurant which was situated near SIES College has opened its first branch in Charni Road, and residents of South Mumbai couldn't be more excited! No longer can they complain that the place is too far to travel. "Gurukripa is coming soon — in a brand-new avatar. Same warmth, same soul, now in the heart of the city," the hotel announced on Instagram.

Guru Kripa which was set up in 1975 celebrates its 50th anniversary this August, and there could be no better time to open a new outpost that functions as a mithai retail outlet and delivery kitchen.

At the new place, patrons will be welcomed with a "truck-style mithai station" and a wall of fame which showcases the legends who once visited this restaurant.

Chef Ranveer Brar is not wrong when he says that Guru Kripa "has the taste that can pull anyone". There's absolutely nothing to fault about its menu that boasts of iconic mouth-watering dishes like chole samosa, puri chole, the all-time Sindhi favourite sev barfi, lassi (sweet, mango and kesar), and an extensive line-up of sweet dishes like gulab jamun, malai barfi, motichoor laddoo, gajar halwa, Indrani, and the saccharine sweet malai sandwich.

They also have an exclusive Jain menu featuring samosas with a chickpea filling, dal pakwan with a lentil filling, cheese pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, rolls and also Jain dahi vada.

When you visit Guru Kripa, don't forget to try out their newly launched Biscoff barfi, that's a sweet addition to their already fabulous line-up of mithais.
