Bank Holiday on Monday, June 30, 2025

On Monday, June 30, 2025, all public and private sector banks will be closed. However, this closure will only affect banks in one state, while the rest of the country will have banks operating as usual. If you plan to visit a bank on that day for any transactions, you will not be able to do so. Here’s why the RBI has declared a holiday on Saturday, June 30.

Why Will Banks Be Closed on June 30, 2025?

Banks in Mizoram will remain closed on June 30 in observance of Remna Ni, which translates to 'Peace Day' in the Mizo language. This day is celebrated annually on June 30 to commemorate the signing of the Mizoram Peace Accord in 1986, which marked a significant step towards resolving nearly two decades of insurgency in the region. The people of Mizoram remember this day as a symbol of peace and unity, celebrating it with various events throughout the state. Due to this public holiday, all banks, both public and private, will be closed.
