E-Voting for the first time in India: The Election Commission has voted for the first time in the country through a mobile app. This experiment has been done in Bihar municipal general election and by -elections. During this time, citizens of Bihar living abroad also voted through mobile apps. At the same time, on an average, 69 percent e-voting took place, including the municipal general election and by-elections.
In fact, the Election Commission had provided the facility of e-voting to them. Those who are unable to reach the polling booth for some reason. Such as elderly, disabled, pregnant women and people living abroad. During this time, Vibha Kumari, a resident of ward number-8 of Pakddayal of East Champaran, became the first e-voter in the country. At the same time, Munna Kumar of Ward No-1 should become the first e-voter of the country among the male voters.
In the general election, 80.60% of the voters who had registered under the facility of e-voting were voted. At the same time, 58.38 percent of the voters voted via mobile phones in the by -election. A total of 51 thousand 155 voters had registered for e-voting. These included 26038 male and 25117 female voters. During this time, migrant voters living in Dubai and Qatar also voted.
The Bihar municipal general election and by -elections voted at 489 booths for a total of 136 seats. Voting was held on Saturday for 96 posts of municipal general election and 40 posts in by -elections. Which includes 84 ward councilors, 6-6 Deputy Chief Councilors and Chief Councilor’s seat. State Election Commissioner Dr. Deepak Kumar described it as a big achievement for Bihar and the country. The votes will be counted on June 30.
