Wimbledon 2025 has started from today at All England Club in London. The eyes of tennis lovers from all over the world will once again be on the court on the court- Carlos Elkaraz, Yanik Sinner and Novak Djokovic. Especially Djokovic will push for its 25th Grand Slam title this time, while Elkaraj and Sinner clash is once again expected to compete with a thrilling match after the French Open.

While the world’s legendary players will spread their glow in singles, India’s hopes are on doubles this time. 4 players from India are participating in this prestigious tournament, but this time there will be no Indian representation in the single category.

Sumit Nagal failed to qualify singles

This time Sumit Nagal of India could not qualify for the men’s singles category. Last year, he was the only singles player from India, but this time India’s challenge is completely focused in doubles. In Wimbledon 2025, four players from India will participate in the men’s doubles matches:

Rohan Bopanna: Veteran player and two -time grand slam winner Rohan Bopanna will land with Belgian bull. The pair is unseeded and their first match will be held on 2 July (Wednesday) with third seed Tim Putz and Kevin Kravietz.

Yuki Bhambri: This time Yuki Bhambri is the only seeded player of India. He will play doubles together with Robert Gallow of America. Their first match will be held on 2 July with players from France and Monaco Manuel Ginard and Romini Arniodo.

Ritwik Bolipalli and N Sriram Balaji: Both these players will come down with their foreign colleagues. Ritwik will be seen in court with Nicholas Bariants of Romania while Sriram, Miguel Reece Varela of Mexico.

Only 3 Indian players have been able to win Wimbledon

So far, only three Indian players have won the title in Wimbledon’s glorious history- Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza. Now it will be seen whether these four new contenders of India will be able to register their names in this list or not. Even though India has no challenge in singles, but expectations from these four players are tied in doubles.
