The announcement of the original trio—Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty—returning for 'Hera Pheri 3' initially thrilled fans. However, disappointment followed when Paresh Rawal revealed his departure from the project, which led to Akshay Kumar issuing a legal notice.
Fortunately, the beloved comedy series 'Hera Pheri 3' is back on track, primarily due to Paresh Rawal's decision to return as his iconic character, 'Baburao'.
In a recent interview with a media outlet, producer Firoz Nadiadwala shared that Sajid Nadiadwala and Ahmed Khan played pivotal roles in resolving the issues. He stated, 'Thanks to the love and guidance from my brother Sajid Nadiadwala and Mr. Ahmed Khan, the Hera Pheri family is reunited. Sajid dedicated significant time and effort over several days to mend the situation, and we have a bond that spans over 50 years. Ahmed also contributed greatly to this resolution, leading to a positive outcome.'
Firoz acknowledged Akshay Kumar's essential involvement in the reconciliation, saying, 'Akshay ji has been incredibly supportive. Our friendship dates back to 1996, and he was kind and affectionate throughout the process. Priyan ji, Paresh ji, and Suniel ji were also very cooperative. We are now focused on creating a joyful film.'
In a recent podcast interview with Himanshu Mehta, Paresh Rawal confirmed his return, humorously stating, 'The film was always meant to happen, but we needed to fine-tune things. After all, everyone involved—Priyadarshan, Akshay, and Suniel—are long-time friends.'
Initially, there were speculations about creative differences being the reason for Rawal's exit, but he clarified that he simply wasn't interested in the character at that time. Reports also indicated that Akshay Kumar, who co-produces the film, had filed a lawsuit against Rawal, requiring him to return the advance payment with interest.
In the 'Hera Pheri 3' franchise, Akshay, Paresh, and Suniel portray the characters Raju, Babu Rao, and Shyam, respectively.
