Fare Increase Announced by Railway Ministry

New Delhi: On Monday, the Railway Ministry released a circular announcing an increase in fares for non-AC classes on mail and express trains by 1 paisa per kilometer, while all AC classes will see a rise of 2 paise per kilometer starting July 1.

Previously, on June 24, ministry officials hinted at this fare adjustment.

The detailed fare table, categorized by train and class, was made public in the recent circular.

To accommodate daily commuters, fares for suburban trains and monthly season tickets will remain unchanged.

For ordinary second-class tickets, there will be no fare increase for journeys up to 500 kilometers; however, for distances exceeding this, ticket prices will rise by half paisa per kilometer.

Passengers traveling in ordinary sleeper and first-class coaches will also face an additional charge of half paisa per kilometer from July 1.
