NEET UG 2025 Re-Test: Madhya Pradesh High Court, Indore Bench has directed to conduct a re-examination for the candidates of Indore and Ujjain affected by power cuts in the NEET UG 2025 exam. The court admitted that there was no fault of the students and they were forced to take the exam in the dark, which affected their performance.

The High Court ordered that NTA should conduct the NEET UG 2025 re-examination as soon as possible and the rank of the students should be decided based on that. It was also said that the students who are filing the petition after June 3, 2025, will not be eligible for re-exam.

Counseling postponed, now will start after the results of the re-exam
The court has said that the NEET UG 2025 counseling to be started by MCC will now depend on the results of the re-examination. Earlier this counseling was to start from July 1, 2025. However, due to the order of the court, the counseling process has been postponed. This will affect more than 12 lakh candidates.

NEET UG paper spoiled due to power cut

Students alleged that in the examination held on May 4, 2025, power was lost at many centers, due to which they had to take the exam in the dark. Generators were also not working at many centers. It was told in the complaints that neither extra time was given nor any alternative arrangement was made.

Students of centers like ILVA School, Shri Vaishnav Academy, and Madhav College in Indore were affected by this problem. About 200 students had filed a petition.

NTA clarified, the court accepted the students' point

NTA told the court that alternative arrangements like inverters, candles, and torches were made at many centers. He also said that many students of the affected centers have also scored more than 600 marks. However, the court admitted that some students suffered without any fault and it is necessary to conduct re-examination for such students.
