As soon as NTA releases the result of CUET UG 2025, first of all, you should go to cuet.nta.nic.in and download your scorecard. Based on the score of CUET, more than 200 universities of the country including central, state and private colleges give admission. But just getting the score is not enough, every university has its own eligibility criteria, merit rank, document verification, interview etc.

How is counseling done?

After CUET, every university opens its counselling portal. Here students have to register and fill in their preferred courses and colleges. For admission in DU, one has to register by visiting ugadmission.uod.ac.in.

University allots seats round-wise on the basis of scores and preferences under the CSAS system. There are several rounds of counselling—first list, second list, spot round, etc. The cut-off keeps increasing and decreasing each time.

What to do if you get low marks?

Analyse the cut-off: See what is the cut-off in your favourite university and whether you can get a chance in the next round.

Focus on courses with low cut-off: Many colleges have low cut-offs even for good courses.

Wait for the spot round: When seats remain vacant, many universities conduct spot rounds or open counselling. This can be a good opportunity.

Choose an alternative course: Vocational or certificate programmes can also open the way for upgrade in the future.

Course first or college?

Course selection is as important as the name of the college. In professional courses (like B.Tech, BBA), college infrastructure and placements are important. But in courses like arts or science, interest and skills matter more. Try to give priority to the course first, because this is the foundation of your career.

Important advice

Check the website of every university daily. If you get a seat in counseling, lock the seat in time and complete the document verification. Pay the fees on time, otherwise the seat may get cancelled.
