NEET UG 2025: The ongoing controversy over the NEET UG 2025 exam is not taking the name of stopping. The Indore Bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court has given a historic verdict regarding NEET UG 2025. An order has been given to conduct the NEET UG exam again for 75 candidates. In this medical entrance exam held on 4 May 2025, the candidates had to face a lot of trouble due to power outages at 24 centers in Indore and Ujjain. Many candidates had to give the paper in candle or emergency light, which affected their performance.

These candidates had filed a petition in the MP High Court demanding a fair opportunity. The court directed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to conduct NEET re-examination for these 75 petitioner candidates and put a stay on their results. Also, the counseling process of NEET UG 2025 has been stopped till the matter is clarified. This decision is important for 2.5 lakh candidates from Madhya Pradesh and more than 22 lakh NEET candidates across the country. This may affect the counseling and admission process.

MP High Court Orders on NEET UG: Power cut during NEET paper
The Madhya Pradesh High Court said in its decision that due to power cuts, the candidates had to take the exam in unfair conditions, which is a violation of their fundamental rights. Justice Subodh Abhyankar's bench heard the matter on June 30, 2025, seeking answers from NTA, Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board and centers. The court found that the power cut of 1-2 hours at these 24 centers has affected the performance of the candidates. NTA claimed that only 75 out of 8,790 candidates complained and their analysis did not show any major impact.

NEET UG Re Exam 2025: Result will come after NEET re-examination
The court has ignored this argument of NTA and ordered a re-examination. This decision may delay the admission process of medical colleges. It will affect the counseling for MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH courses. Candidates can check the latest updates on the official website of National Testing Agency neet.nta.nic.in. This decision sets a precedent for improving exam management and ensuring fairness in future.
