The central government has launched a new scheme to make the daughters of the country self-reliant and skilled. The name of this scheme is 'Navya'. This scheme has been brought especially for girls aged 16 to 18 years. Its purpose is to train them in such works which till now were generally considered to be associated with boys or men.

A pilot project was implemented in 27 districts of 9 states.

Navya Yojana was started on 24 June from Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh. This is a pilot project, which has currently been started in 27 districts of 9 states. These districts also include those areas which are called 'aspiring districts' i.e. where more help is needed socially and economically.

New age skills will be taught to daughters.

Under the Navya Yojana, girls will be taught such professional skills which are in great demand in today's time. Training will be given in modern skills like graphics designing, drone assembling, mobile repairing, solar panel installation, CCTV installation, and the work of smartphone technicians and professional makeup artists.

Started under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana

The Navya scheme has been jointly launched by the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. This is a special effort linked to the vision of Developed India 2047. Under this, girls will be given commercial training so that they can become self-reliant and get better employment opportunities in the future.

Which girls will get the benefit of this scheme?

Only those girls will get the benefit of this scheme who have passed at least 10th and who are between 16 to 18 years. That is, girls who take the first step towards making a career after school can get a big benefit from this scheme.

7-hour special training module prepared

For this scheme, the government has prepared a special training module of 7 hours. In this, not only technical training, but also information will be given about communication skills, understanding income and expenditure, how to behave in the workplace, and legal rights like POSH and POCSO. So that girls can be fully prepared for professional life.

Waiting for the application process for now
The official application process for this scheme has not been announced yet. Applications will likely be invited through the website of the Ministry of Women and Child Development or the Ministry of Skill Development or from a new portal. As soon as the government shares its information, the application process will start on it.

Why is this scheme special?
Because it is not just a plan to provide training, but it is an attempt to change the thinking. Even today, in many places, daughters are considered limited to only traditional works. Navya Yojana is trying to break that thinking so that daughters can become anything from graphic designers to drone technicians.
