The MP High Court has taken a big decision regarding NEET UG 2025. The court has ordered NTA to re-examine the candidates affected by the power outage.

The MP High Court has ordered the National Testing Agency to re-examine the candidates affected by the power outage during the NEET UG exam. The High Court has cited Article 14 of the Indian Constitution and said that despite no fault of these candidates, they were put in a disadvantageous position due to power cuts. Justice Subodh Abhyankar of the Indore bench of the High Court had reserved his decision last month after hearing the arguments of all the concerned parties on the petitions of several NEET-UG candidates.

How many candidates will get the benefit?

Petitioners' lawyer Mridul Bhatnagar said that he has received a copy of the court's order of June 23. He said that about 75 candidates who appeared for NEET-UG exam in Indore and Ujjain will benefit from this order, whose examination center had a power failure.

What did the court say in the order?

The single bench said in its order, "This court is of the considered opinion that after hearing the petitioners, a case for intervention under Article 14 is made out because despite no fault of theirs, they were put in an adverse situation due to power cut. This situation was not there in other examination centers and even in the same examination center where some candidates were sitting in favorable places with adequate natural light."

On which candidates will the decision apply?

Accepting the petitions, the High Court ordered the NTA to re-examine the concerned candidates as soon as possible and declare its result. The bench clarified that its order would apply only to those candidates who had filed their petitions before June 3, the date of release of the provisional answer key of the NEET-UG exam.
