Market . The torrential rains in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh for the last 24 hours have completely disturbed life. The incidents of landslides and floods across the district have stirred up. The condition of Kiratpur-Manali Fourlane is said to be the most serious. The route has been completely blocked due to landslides at three places between Pandoh to Takoli section.

According to the information, the 840 meter long elevated bridge located near Larji Power House has caused heavy damage. The fall of a giant rock slipped about 15 cm of deck slab, due to which the entire structure has become unstable. There is no possibility of restoration of the route due to continuous debris falling.

261 roads closed, power supply also stalled

According to the latest report of the Public Works Department, 261 roads have been closed in Mandi district. 60 routes have been disrupted in Dharampur division, 36 in Sarkaghat, 34 in Thalout and 32-32 in Karsog and Saraj. Several roads have also been closed in Sundernagar, Gohar, Mandi II, Padhar, Jogendranagar and Nerchauk. With this, electricity supply in the area has also come to a standstill. A total of 1708 transformers have been closed. Of these, the maximum number of 604 transformers Gohar, 365 Karsog, 355 Mandi, 304 Dharampur, 42 Sarkaghat, 24 Sundernagar and 14 are said to be affected.

Obstruction in relief work
The administration has clarified that it is extremely risky to start relief work in landslide affected areas until the rain stops. The teams of NDRF, SDRF and Public Works Department are continuously on alert mode, but there is a serious disruption in relief and restoration work due to unbeatable rains. Project Director of NHAI Mandi Varun Chari said that the situation is being constantly monitored and the restoration of forelane will be started with priority as soon as the weather is favorable.
