Mohanlal's Daughter Takes the Plunge into Acting

In a significant development, Vismaya, the daughter of renowned Malayalam actor Mohanlal, is poised to make her acting debut, finally putting to rest the ongoing speculation about her entry into the film industry.

Vismaya, affectionately known as Maya, has previously kept a low profile, focusing on her passions for writing and painting. When questioned about her potential acting career, her father often stated, "It’s her choice; she is old enough to decide for herself."

Her first role will be in the film 'Thudakam,' produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and directed by Jude Anthany Joseph.

This announcement has stirred excitement within the film community, although details regarding the male lead and the complete cast are still undisclosed.

Notably, this is a rare occasion where both of Mohanlal's children have opted to pursue careers in acting. His son, Pranav, has already gained recognition with several successful films while maintaining a private lifestyle.

Aashirvad Cinemas, the production house behind 'Thudakam,' was established in 1999 by Antony Perumbavoor, who was once Mohanlal’s driver. The company gained prominence after producing the hit film 'Narasimham' in 2000, establishing itself as a leading name in Malayalam cinema.

It remains uncertain whether Mohanlal will make an appearance in 'Thudakam' or when filming will commence.

Vismaya's entry into the film industry aligns with the trend of star children making their mark. Other notable examples include Dulquer Salmaan (son of Mammootty), Kalidas Jayaram (son of Jayaram), and Keerthy Suresh (daughter of producer Suresh Kumar and actress Menaka), among others.
