Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) announced a scheduled power outage at over 40 localities in Chennai on Thursday, July 3, as part of maintenance work. The power supply will be suspended from 9 AM to 2 PM in most affected areas.

The key regions that will be impacted include K.K. Nagar, Jalladianpet, Pallikaranai, and Medavakkam, with multiple streets and neighborhoods falling under the planned outage schedule.

Area-wise Power Cut Details:

Jalladianpet: PERUMBAKKAM 110 KV JEYACHANDRAN NAGAR Green Court, Jeganathapuram, AnnaSalai Main road, Rice Mill Main Road, Jayachandiran Nagar.

Pallikaranai: KITS Park 230KV Varthapuram Athipathi Thottam, Asan college Road, Velacheri Main Road, Nethaji Nagar, Pillayar Koil Street, Devi karumariamman Street. SS Mylai Balaji Nagar Mylai Balaji Nagar Par I,II,III and IV, Thandhai Periyar Nagar, Velacheri Main Roaf Kaiveli to Kamatchi Hospital.

Medavakkam: PERUMBAKKAM 110 KV T.C.S PERUMBAKKAM Sekaran Mall , Kailash Nagar, Sri Perumal Nagar, Antony Nagar, Bajanai koil st perumpakkam, Nookampalayam Road.

TANGEDCO has advised residents in these areas to plan their activities accordingly and take necessary precautions during the five-hour power disruption. The maintenance work is part of the utility’s routine infrastructure enhancement and reliability improvement measures.

Chennai Weather Update

Chennai is expected to receive light rainfall in some areas, offering a brief respite from the prevailing heat, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

In its forecast for July 3, the IMD said, “Light rain is likely to occur in some areas.” The sky condition will remain partly cloudy throughout the day.

Temperatures are expected to range between a minimum of 29°C and a maximum of 36–37°C, the IMD added.
