Delhi University News: Delhi University's Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board (NCWEB) has opened admission for undergraduate courses for the 2025 academic year, providing 15,200 seats at 26 centres. NCWEB is specifically meant for women who are unable to pursue a regular college due to financial, social, or personal reasons. It offers a flexible and cost-effective model of education by way of weekend classes and merit-based entry.

Only women residing in Delhi are eligible, and admissions for BA (Programme) and B.Com courses are based on Class 12 marks—CUET scores are not required. The application window will remain open for three weeks.

“Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board truly embodies the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi," NCWEB Director Professor Geeta Bhatt told PTI.

"This institution of DU is a ray of hope for girls who are unable to attend regular college due to financial or social challenges. It gives them a chance to continue their education and contribute meaningfully to society," Bhatt added.

NCWEB provides weekend classes in associated DU colleges—either on Saturdays or Sundays—so women can manage studies and work, family chores, or childcare. They can use Delhi University's e-resources and host college libraries besides financial support and book loan facilities for underprivileged students.

"This is a unique model that allows us to use the existing infrastructure of DU to educate thousands of women at minimal cost," Professor Bhatt said.

Beginning with three students in 1944, NCWEB has expanded to more than 31,000 learners today. The program aims not only at academic development but also at giving women opportunities, freedom, and tools for building futures.
