A female English teacher from a well-known school in Mumbai has been arrested following serious allegations of inappropriate conduct with a 16-year-old student. According to police reports, the teacher is accused of engaging in a prolonged inappropriate relationship with the student, which allegedly lasted for over a year.

The family of the student approached the police after noticing significant changes in his behavior. Initially, they chose to remain silent due to the student's ongoing studies at the school, but after his exams concluded, they filed an official complaint. The police are now investigating the matter in detail.

Authorities claim the teacher repeatedly met the student outside school and took him to multiple locations, including high-end hotels. The teacher, who is around 40 years old and married with a child, reportedly came in close contact with the student during preparations for a school event in late 2023. The initial interactions allegedly turned into a personal relationship, which later became a cause of concern.

Police have also registered a case against one of the teacher’s acquaintances, who allegedly encouraged the student to maintain contact with her. The student eventually revealed the entire episode to his family, leading to a formal police complaint.

Officials added that the teacher attempted to contact the student again earlier this year through a domestic help, which prompted the family to take legal action. The student had reportedly experienced emotional distress due to the situation.

Currently, the accused teacher is in police custody, and further investigation is underway. Authorities have assured that they are handling the case with the seriousness and sensitivity it demands.
