Ben Stokes again had a huge impact as he sent back inform Yashasvi Jaiswal just when the batter was nearing a stunning century. Jaiswal was batting beautifully on 87 and seemed destined for his second hundred of the series before he edged a wide ball from Stokes.
Although, it was not an excellent ball, short and outside off wide, but Jaiswal attempted the cut shot. He knacked a bottom edge, and wicketkeeper Jamie Smith grabbed an easy catch behind the wickets. Jaiswal remained at the crease in shock for a second before slowly walking off. He had hit 13 fours and was on 87 after playing 107 balls.
English skipper Ben Stokes, however, was incensed. He unleashed a thunderous roar and high-fived his mates. Although the delivery was not intended to get a wicket, Stokes seemed more than gladly to take it as it arrived at the perfect moment as this delivery broke 66 runs stand between Jaiswal and Gill.
Jaiswal had played and missed a few cut shots in his innings, and this one finally dismissed him. It was a significant moment for England, ending an important partnership in the second session of Day 1.

Stokes' Celebration Tied to On-Field Exchange with Jaiswal
Earlier in the 1st session of Day 1, Ben Stokes and Yashasvi Jaiswal were engaged in a heated exchange. Stokes said something to Jaiswal while he was running past him for a single. In response, the young left-hander also retaliated with fiery words, making Stokes angry. This celebration of Stokes was in response to that verbal spat.
Despite Yashasvi's wicket, India is in a strong position as they have been scoring at a rate of 3.4 after 50 overs. Rishabh Pant, the twin centurion of the last game at Headingley, has entered the field after Jaiswal's dismissal and he is accompanied by the Indian skipper Shubman Gill.
