Victoria Beckham and Geri Horner are set to miss Mel B's nuptials this coming Saturday, according to reports. The fashion designer and her former Spice Girls bandmate are both notably absent from the guest list at Scary Spice's upcoming wedding ceremony in St Paul's Cathedral where she will exchange vows with her fiancé Rory McPhee amid a glamorous setting.
Reports suggest that Emma Bunton or Melanie Chisholm might also give the glittering event a miss. Sources close to Victoria, aged 51, state the reason for her non-attendance: "Victoria has long-standing commitments abroad and simply can't attend. She adores Mel, and despite their different career paths, they get along well. It's unfortunate but there's no bad blood. It's just one of those things." As for Geri, she and Mel B have endured a turbulent friendship, often struggling to share the same space without friction.
Their reporter feud escalated after Mel B's candid confession on Piers Morgan's Life Stories, where she claimed to have had a brief affair with Geri during the group's heyday - an admission that reportedly left Geri upset.
Mel reportedly did not extend an apology, and the revelation left Geri's husband Christian Horner "mortified".
This comes after news that neither Victoria nor Geri made an appearance at Mel's 50th birthday bash in Leeds earlier this May-only Emma and Mel C were in attendance.
The forthcoming nuptials will be Mel B's third walk down the aisle. Her first marriage was to Dutch dancer Jimmy Gulzar in 1998, where she famously wore an extravagant Vegas showgirl feathered headdress and a striking white-and-gold gown.
In 2007, Mel exchanged vows with Stephen Belafonte in Las Vegas, followed by a vow renewal in Egypt the subsequent year.
Following her separation from Stephen, Mel developed a bond with Rory McPhee, whom she praised last year as "a family friend, great hairdresser... when I went back to England, he would come over and give me hair treatments... And as he was nurturing my curls back, I guess he was nurturing my trust and belief in a relationship."
