Till now, if you had to scan a document and send it on WhatsApp, then you had to take the help of a separate third-party app like CamScanner or Adobe Scan. But now WhatsApp has added this scanning feature inside the app itself. This means that without opening any other app, you can take a photo of the document directly from WhatsApp, scan it, make a PDF, and send it to anyone immediately.

Where will you get this feature?
This feature has currently started in Android Beta Version 2.25.18.29. Initially, it was inactive, but now, after the new update, it is slowly becoming available to beta users. Soon it will start for all users.

How to scan a document?
When you select the attachment option to send a document to someone on WhatsApp, you will now see three options there. In which Browse Documents, Choose from Gallery, and Scan Document will be shown.

How does Scan Document work?

As soon as you select this option, your phone's camera will open. You can take a photo of the document you want to scan. After this, WhatsApp edits the photo and makes it clear like a scan. You can save it in PDF and send it.

Manual and Automatic Scanning Options

WhatsApp gives users two ways to scan documents. In Manual Mode, you can decide which part of the photo should be scanned. The second is Automatic Mode, in which WhatsApp automatically identifies the edges of the document and scans it. This feature makes scanning fast and easy.

New AI feature of WhatsApp

WhatsApp has recently introduced another AI-based feature. It summarizes your personal chats in bullet points. With this, users will understand at a glance what the chatting is about without reading the entire chat. It is based on Meta AI technology.
