With just hours remaining until the global launch of Jurassic World Rebirth, fans have begun to reminisce about an older Jurassic Park film, which was often labeled as the weakest installment in the franchise at the time of its release and in the years that followed. However, as audiences worldwide prepare to experience the latest entry in the franchise, featuring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali in leading roles, some fans have taken to X to express their belief that Jurassic Park III deserves significantly more recognition than it initially received.
“You know what, after just finishing Jurassic Park 3, it's actually better than I remember. Now yes, the parents are cheesy and the fact Eric survived for 8 weeks alone is wild but taking that away, with Alan and Billy, they're just 2 nerds learning more about dinosaurs as they try to escape the Island!,” shared one fan, adding, “On top of that, you can see their fascination as they begin to understand the Raptors more and how they communicate which is what a lot of people would kill for, to see them in the flesh and truly understand how they lived, maybe not as close up as they are, however overall, actually better than I remember.”

"Folks who know ball understand that Jurassic Park III is the second-best movie in the franchise," shared a second person, while a third wrote, "The third best film in the Jurassic franchise. Jurassic Park 3 wastes no time with the dinosaur action with a newcomer in the Spinosaurus wrecking havoc, and humans are at the complete mercy of chaos. It has questionable moments, but it's still loads of fun from beginning to end."

“Remember when we all thought this one was the worst in the franchise and then Dominion came along and we all went. Actually, this films not that bad,” shared a fourth X user, while a fifth paid homage to correct dino representations and commented, “"A 92 minute Sam Neill Jurassic Park movie? Hell yeah! It's better than every single Jurassic World movie ever made. I know everyone hated the cell phone gag back in the day, but I actually thought it was pretty funny this time around. Raptors. Pterodactyls. And a new (but real) dinosaur: the Spinosaurus. This is so much better than most of the franchise films we get today."

Made on a staggering budget of $93 million, Jurassic Park III, upon its release in 2001, grossed $3689.6 million at the global box office. By franchise standards, Jurassic Park III is arguably the least celebrated film, struggling at the box office despite the return of Sam Neill as Dr. Alan Grant. While the film faced considerable criticism upon release, over the years, many purists have praised it for accurately depicting dinosaurs and avoiding the mutant/hybrid versions seen in later films.
