When will it be implemented?

According to the information received about this, from July 7, 2025, now Indian Bank customers are going to get rid of the minimum balance charge. This means that Indian Bank has completely abolished the need to keep a minimum balance on a savings account.

Even if you have zero rupees in your account, no charge will be levied on you.

The bank will give this benefit to students, small traders, customers from rural areas, and senior citizens. Its objective is to connect more and more people with banking services.

These banks also removed the Minimum Balance Charge.

Earlier, Canara and Punjab National Bank had decided to remove the Minimum Balance Charge. PNB, i.e., Punjab National Bank, has also removed the minimum balance charge from July 1, 2025. Apart from this, Canara Bank has also decided to remove the minimum balance charge in the savings account.

What is the Minimum Balance Charge?
Customers have to maintain a balance in their savings account, which is called the minimum balance. If a person is unable to maintain this charge, then a charge is levied on him. This is called a minimum balance charge.
