Comedian Duncan Norvelle, famed for his vibrant "chase me!" catchphrase, died in 2024 at 66 years old. The beloved TV entertainer from the 80s and 90s encountered severe health and financial struggles and reportedly passed away with very little to his name.

His television presence had dwindled in recent years, with appearances including Pointless Celebrities in 2019 and Celebrity Come Dine With Me in 2011, as reported by the Mirror.

Linda Trevallion, his partner of over a decade, shared with The Sun that he succumbed to a chest infection and sepsis, surrounded by her and two of his children in his last moments. Following his incapacitating strokes in 2012, which rendered him paralysed on one side, Trevallion reminisced: "He's at peace and he's made millions of people laugh in his lifetime. I've never heard anyone say a bad thing about him.", reports the Daily Record.

She also noted: "[He] wasn't really showbiz, he wasn't one for going to showbiz parties."

Duncan attempted a comeback in 2015, performing at smaller venues and even headlining an event for the Stroke Association in Skegness.

Despite efforts, his finances took a hit, and Mail Online detailed the collapse of his two companies, Chase Me Management, in 2016. Facing reduced income, Duncan turned to selling custom video messages to fans and entertaining on cruise ships to make ends meet.

Duncan faced setbacks in revitalising his career due to Covid. He disclosed that he had been barred from participating in some events for being "too slow" and using a wheelchair, but he remained resolute in his quest for performance opportunities.

In his touching Christmas message from 2021, Duncan expressed his appreciation: "It's so nice to still be wanted to perform for your events."

He also took a moment to praise his partner Lynn for her unwavering support stating, "Laughter is the best medicine that anyone can be given. I also want to thank my incredible partner Lynn. She is my rock and always will be and without her I would be lost."

The entertainer first rose to fame with his appearances on ITV's variety show Saturday Royal in the early 1980s, and went on to host the initial pilot of Blind Date, along with regular appearances on favourites such as Surprise! Surprise! and The Bob Monkhouse Show.
