Mumbai, July 3: Bollywood star Sunny Deol has expressed his enthusiasm for his role as Lord Hanuman in the highly anticipated film 'Ramayana,' directed by Nitesh Tiwari.
Taking to social media, the 'Gadar' actor shared his joy, describing it as a privilege to be part of a narrative that has influenced countless generations. On Instagram, he posted the film's first look teaser, stating, “I am honored to be part of a story that has shaped generations. Welcome to the world of Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana, the timeless tale of Rama versus Ravana. I am grateful to embark on this journey and share it with all of you.”
He further encouraged fans to celebrate this moment, inviting them to join the 'world of Ramayana.' He added, “Our Truth. Our History. #Ramayana #RamayanaByNamitMalhotra.”
Recently, the film's team revealed the first look of actors Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash in 'Ramayana.' The announcement video opens with a striking portrayal of the divine trinity—Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva—who oversee the universe. It then transitions into showcasing pivotal characters from the epic: Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as the formidable Ravana.
In their first look announcement, the creators stated, “Ten years of aspiration and unwavering commitment to bring the greatest epic of all time to the world. This collaboration aims to present Ramayana with the utmost reverence and respect. Welcome to the beginning. Let’s celebrate the immortal story of Rama versus Ravana. Our Truth. Our History.”
Nitesh Tiwari, the film's director, remarked, “Ramayana is a narrative we have all grown up with. It embodies the essence of our culture. Our goal was to honor that essence and present it on a cinematic scale that it truly deserves. 'Ramayana,' helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in partnership with DNEG, the Oscar-winning VFX studio, and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.
The film is slated for a worldwide release, with Part 1 set to debut during Diwali 2026 and Part 2 following in Diwali 2027.
