Sharing the first promo video of the film on her Instagram, Sunny wrote, ‘I am proud to be a part of this story that has created generations. The video begins with a powerful depiction of Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, who are creators of the entire universe. Then, an animation shows the main characters: Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita and Yash as Raavan. TV actor Ravie Dubey is playing the role of Laxman in the film and Sunny Deol will be seen in the role of Lord Hanuman. At the same time, Rakul Preet Singh is playing the role of ‘Shurpanakha’.
Kajal Aggarwal will play the role of ‘Mandodari’ and Lara Dutta will play the role of ‘Kaikeyi’. Arun Govil has played the role of King Dasharath in it, while Kunal Kapoor will be playing the role of Indrajeet. The film will not be released in just one part, but in two parts. The first part will come on Diwali 2026 and the second part will be released on Diwali 2027.
The project unites renowned composers Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman, who have worked together on the film’s score. Renowned stunt coordinators Terry Notary and Guy Norris will direct the action choreography, ensuring powerful, large-scale battle scenes with both visual and emotional depth. Produced by Namit Malhotra and co-produced by Yash, the film is supported by Prime Focus Studios and Monster Mind Creations, in partnership with DNEG – the eight-time Oscar-winning VFX leader, which has been helmed by Nitesh Tiwari.
