Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta have been handed big transfer updates on two of their targets.

Kepa Arrizabalaga was confirmed as the Gunners' first summer addition earlier this week with Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard announcements expected imminently. Following that, talks for Cristhian Mosquera, Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze will likely intensify.

The latter has become a firm target in recent days following a meeting between the Crystal Palace star's representatives and the Gunners. In terms of the striker situation, Sesko appeared to be the favoured signing but it now looks as though Gyokeres is the more likely addition.

With all of that being said, football.london has provided a fresh perspective on the latest updates surrounding two Arsenal transfer targets.

According to Portuguese outlet TV Guia, Gyokeres has broken up with his girlfriend Ines Aguiar. Rumours of their split ramped up when she was not spotted at the wedding of his Sporting teammate Morten Hjulmand and his partner Emilie Sofie Nissen, who Aguiar is believed to be close with.

It has since been revealed the two spent their holidays apart and it has even been claimed Gyokeres made the decision so that he would have no more ties to Lisbon.

football.london says: If it was not clear already, Gyokeres appears completely against staying at Sporting. The 27-year-old desperately wants to join Arsenal which has seen him turn down moves to Juventus and Manchester United.

It looks as though he is closer to seeing that wish granted with reports in France claiming that an agreement on personal terms with Arsenal is edging closer.This comes after talks for RB Leipzig's Sesko stalled over his valuation and the payment structure required to meet his asking price.

Gyokeres' latest decision shows how committed he will be to Arsenal if he joins with Arteta likely to be delighted by his feelings towards only wanting the Gunners.

According to Valencia journalist Hector Gomez, Mosquera has made it clear to the Spanish club he will not be accepting their new contract proposal.

He has also claimed that Arsenal have submitted a second bid worth just over £8.6million (€10m), but that will likely be rejected as Valencia want £17.2million (€20m).

football.london says: With Mosquera clearly wanting to join Arsenal and Valencia's asking price quite low, it makes sense for Berta to try and pay a low fee.

Potentially signing three marquee attackers does mean that a significant amount of funds will be required and therefore less could be available to bring in a back-up defender. It seems very likely a compromise will be met with Arsenal not wanting to waste any time before formalising pursuits of forward targets.

Negotiations are likely to continue over the coming days with an agreement on personal terms between Mosquera and Arsenal already having been reached.
