The Mahindra XUV.e9, also referred to as XEV 9e, is the flagship SUV in Mahindra’s electric revolution. It blends bold coupe design, futuristic tech, and long-range EV capabilities. Based on the INGLO EV platform, the XUV.e9 is built to compete with global electric SUVs from brands like Tesla, Hyundai, and BYD.

Coupe SUV Design That Turns Heads

The XUV.e9 offers a radical departure from traditional Mahindra SUVs. Its standout features include a sloping fastback roofline, C-shaped LED DRLs, and a full-width LED lightbar at the rear. With aerodynamic sculpting and flush-fitting door handles, it delivers both performance and futuristic styling — unlike anything Mahindra has done before.

INGLO Platform – Smart, Safe, and Scalable

Built on the INGLO skateboard platform, the XUV.e9 supports high-voltage architecture for better efficiency, range, and fast charging. It integrates software-defined vehicle capabilities, enhanced crash safety structures, and supports both RWD and AWD drivetrain configurations. Expect fast OTA updates, 5G connectivity, and modular battery design.

Immersive Cabin with a Triple-Screen Layout

Inside, the XUV.e9 will feature a triple-screen dashboard setup, including a digital driver display, infotainment touchscreen, and a screen for the front passenger. The cabin will be wrapped in vegan leather, soft-touch recycled materials, and customizable ambient lighting. Mahindra’s UX will include AI-based voice control, ADAS Level 2, and a new navigation OS with real-time range estimation.

Performance and Long Range Confidence

The XUV.e9 is expected to come with dual motor AWD and single motor RWD options. Battery sizes could range between 80 kWh and 90 kWh, with a claimed range of over 500 km on a full charge. Fast charging up to 175 kW will allow it to reach 80% in under 30 minutes, and the EV will offer drive modes like Eco, Sport, and Terrain.

Launch Timeline and Expected Price in India

Mahindra is expected to launch the XUV.e9 in mid to late 2025. It will be positioned above the XUV.e8 and target the premium segment with a price range starting at ₹38 lakh and going up to ₹45 lakh (ex-showroom). It will go head-to-head with the Hyundai Ioniq 5, BYD Seal U, and MG Marvel R.

A Global-Grade Indian EV

The Mahindra XUV.e9 (XEV 9e) is not just an EV it’s a statement of Mahindra’s global ambition. With dramatic styling, a tech-loaded interior, and the promise of 500+ km range, it sets the tone for the brand’s premium electric future. For buyers looking for an Indian-made, world-class electric SUV, the XUV.e9 is worth the wait.
