The UK has a vast number of options when it comes to planning a cheap family holiday. Blackpool is one of the most popular getaway destinations for families, being home to its renowned amusement park, Blackpool Pleasure Beach. The seaside resort welcomes a staggering 21.5 million visitors every year, offering fun experiences for all ages at a decent price.
However, according to new research, Brits should look elsewhere if they want to save cash on a budget break. Hoseasons, a self-catering accommodation company, analysed the average cost of a holiday park and the number of child-friendly attractions to find the best-priced locations, and a gorgeous spot off the South coast topped the list.
Gemma Brown, general manager at Hoseasons, said: "Family holidays present some of the best opportunities to spend quality time with the people you love and make memories that can last a lifetime, so they really should be accessible for everyone.
"It's important to remember that you don't need to splash out in order to have a great holiday, even just a simple change of scenery can bring chances to relax and experience something new together."
Every year, around 2.4 million find themselves visiting the beautiful Isle of Wight. The UK island, known for its picturesque beaches and seafront promenades, was named as the nation's most budget-friendly holiday location, thanks to the many free or low-priced attractions, good-value holiday parks, and meal costs.
Visitors are spolit for choice when spending time on the island. The Isle of Wight has a wealth of landmarks to visit, attractions to explore, and activities to participate in. The most famous being The Needles Landmark Attraction, which offers a look at some of the island's best views through a chairlift experience.
You can also enjoy a sweet factory demonstration, a 4D cinema experience, a Jeep safari and games and rides. There's so much choice for just one attraction, and a ticket for each activity costs no more than £10.
The Isle of Wight's Donkey Sanctuary is a great free day out for animal lovers. You can spend time feeding and interacting with the cute animals, or getting your hands dirty in a genuine farm experience.
One visitor who had a "marvelous experience" wrote on TripAdvisor: "Over 100 donkeys are cared for by this not for profit organisation. Admission is free, and there is plenty of free parking.
"Visitors can take as long as they like wandering around the paddocks saying hello to the residents or you can join one of the guided walking tours. We very much enjoyed the cafe and gift shop as well. We shall visit again."
If you're looking for a more relaxing way to spend your day, look no further than the Isle of Wight's diverse coastline. Home to plenty of breathtaking beaches, families can enjoy a day of sunbathing, swimming, or just chilling and spending some quality time together without distractions.
