Now that the result is out, the question in the minds of the students is - "What next?" Today we will tell you in detail about the admission process after CUET UG so that you can get admission in a good college in your undergraduate course.

Download CUET UG Scorecard

First, candidates must download their CUET UG 2025 scorecard from the official website cuet.nta.nic.in or exams.nta.ac.in. Follow the following steps to download the scorecard:

Visit the official website cuet.nta.nic.in.

Click on the "CUET UG 2025 Result" or "Scorecard" link.

Enter your application number and date of birth.

The scorecard will appear on the screen; download it and take a printout.

The scorecard will include your NTA score, percentile, and All India Rank (AIR). This document is mandatory for the counseling and admission process.

Process after CUET UG

Based on the CUET UG result, over 243 universities, including top institutes like Delhi University (DU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and Jamia Millia Islamia, will release their merit lists and counselling schedules. It is important to note that there is no centralised counselling process in CUET UG. Each university conducts its own counselling process separately.

1. Participate in the counselling process of universities

Registration: After the result is declared, you will have to register by visiting the official website of the universities where you wish to take admission. For example, for JNU you will have to register on their official admission portal.

Course and college choice: During registration, you will have to choose your preferred courses and colleges. Make sure that your choices are as per your CUET UG score and cut-off.

Merit list: Universities will prepare the merit list based on your CUET UG score. Each university will have different cut-offs, depending on the course, category, and seats available.

2. Cut-off and Merit List

Prestigious universities like DU, BHU, and JNU usually have higher cut-off scores for admission. For example, JNU's BA (Hons) Language programmes have had the highest cut-offs in the past years. In general, admission to top universities may require a normalized score of 900 or above. For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, the cut-off may range between 50-60 percentile, depending on the course and college.

3. Counselling and Seat Allotment

The counselling process will allocate seats based on the merit list. Some universities may also conduct additional interviews or written tests. After seat allotment, you will have to pay the fees within the stipulated time and complete the document verification process. Such as 10th/12th marksheet, CUET scorecard, and category certificate will all be checked.

4. Document Verification and Fee Submission

To lock your seat, you need to keep the following documents ready:

CUET UG 2025 scorecard

10th and 12th marksheet

Category certificate (if applicable)

Passport size photo

Identity proof (such as Aadhaar card, DL or passport)

Other documents required by the university

After depositing the fee and document verification, your admission will be confirmed.

Follow these tips too

Regular updates: Keep checking the official websites of universities and the NTA portal regularly for information on counseling schedule and cut-off.

Multiple universities: Since there is no centralized counseling, you can apply to more than one university to increase your chances of admission.

Normalization Process: CUET UG scores are prepared based on normalized scores (equi-percentile method) to adjust for the difference in difficulty level across different shifts. Understand your percentile and rank carefully.

Scorecard Copies: Download and print multiple copies, as these will be required repeatedly during counseling and admission.

What to do if the score is low?

If your score is below the cut-off of top universities, don't panic. Over 243 universities accept CUET scores, including many state and private universities. The cut-offs are usually low, and you can get admission to your preferred course.
