Cole Palmer and Estevao Willian have already formed a budding friendship ahead of the 18 year old prodigy's anticipated arrival at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues snapped up the teenage sensation for £29million in the last summer transfer window, with the forward remaining at Palmeiras until he turned 18 before making the switch.
As part of the agreement, Chelsea consented to the young star participating for the Brazilian side in the Club World Cup tournament held in the USA.
Unbeknownst to them at the time of the deal, Chelsea and Palmeiras would end up clashing in the quarter-final of the competition.
And that's precisely what unfolded, with Chelsea getting a preview of their new acquisition's prowess when he netted an equaliser from a seemingly impossible angle, hammering a stunning shot off the crossbar at Robert Sanchez's near post.
Estevao's goal levelled the score against Cole Palmer's earlier effort, which was quite apt considering the two are already on friendly terms. Chelsea eventually clinched the match 2-1 with a deflected strike from Malo Gusto.
Reflecting on his celebration after scoring for Palmeiras last October, Estevao remarked: "When I signed for Chelsea, the next day I scored a goal and celebrated like Palmer. His celebration was a trend, very popular. We talked on social media, I tagged him on Instagram, he called me a star, I said he's a star too.
"He said we're going to do a lot of great things together for Chelsea."
Palmer shared his insights on the talented youngster, encountered during the Club World Cup tournament.
"He's a really good player," Palmer revealed. "I've spoken to him a few times. He doesn't speak much English, so it was a case of Google Translate, but I've had a few conversations with him saying I'm looking forward to seeing him and playing with him."
However, when the prodigy sets foot at Cobham Training Centre for his maiden training session with his new mates, Palmer might need to have more than a casual chat with him.
Scoring against his soon-to-be teammates, Estevao spared no effort in savouring his achievement. His celebration was impassioned, punctuated by him thumping the Palmeiras emblem on his chest right before the club's fans.
Though a splendid goal, one could argue that such an exuberant display might be muted, considering it was netted against the side he is about to join in just a few days.
Despite the DAZN cameras capturing the elation of the 18 year old jubilantly retreating from his strike, they also caught Palmer retracing his steps to the centre circle, shooting a serious glance over his shoulder towards Estevao - perhaps less than impressed by the young virtuoso's antics.
This may merely reflect frustration at letting a goal slip past them, yet Palmer's observational glance towards the still-celebrating Estevao spoke volumes.
