Queen Elizabeth's private, never-heard-before nickname that's only been used by her nearest and dearest has been revealed by one of her closest confidantes. The late Queen was well known around the world for having the moniker Lilibet, the name Prince Harry and Meghan Markle chose to give to their own daughter, Princess Lilibet.

But while the beloved monarch used various other names, a royal author has revealed a new one that's never been heard before. Author Sally Bedell Smith published various conversations with Lady Elizabeth Anson on her Substack 'Royal Extras'.

Lady Elizabeth, the former wife of Sir Geoffrey Shakerley, was a first cousin once removed of the late Queen.

Born in Windsor Castle, she was the late Queen Mother's great-niece and also King George VI's goddaughter.

Liza, as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was known for being a high-society party planner and was one of Elizabeth's closest confidantes later in life.

The aristocrat died nearly five years ago, just two years before Elizabeth's death in 2022, but now Ms Bedell Smith has shared various glimpses into what the late monarch had confided in her confidante.

According to the Mail, she wrote that Lady Elizabeth often referred to the late Queen as "Jemima" and something else

She said: "In the Queen's later years, Lady Elizabeth (herself nicknamed Liza) affectionately referred to her as 'Jemima' (for reasons she never explained) and 'The Number One Lady'."

The late Queen had plenty of other nicknames used by members of the Royal Family.

Prince Philip used to call her "cabbage", while Prince William and Prince Harry used to call her "Gary".

Prince George also reportedly called her "Gan-Gan".
