On Wednesday, Haryana's Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini announced ongoing discussions with Disney Company regarding the establishment of a significant amusement park. A site of 500 acres has been earmarked near Pachgaon Chowk in Manesar for this venture. CM Saini revealed this information following a meeting with the Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, in Delhi.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the proposed Disney park is expected to enhance regional tourism and bring transformative economic changes to the area. He noted that the project would create thousands of direct and indirect job opportunities while attracting international visitors. Saini highlighted Gurugram's selection for this initiative due to its economic significance and robust infrastructure.
The Global City project will span 1,000 acres, encompassing Sectors 36, 36B, 37, and 37B. It will feature connectivity to the Delhi-Gurugram and Dwarka Expressway, designed around the 'walk-to-work' concept, ensuring that all essential amenities are conveniently located.
CM Saini further stated that the park will serve not just as an entertainment hub but will also provide cultural, social, and economic advantages to both the state and the nation. He referred to it as a significant source of job creation.
If realized, this will mark the first official partnership with Disney for a theme park in India. Earlier this year, the Maharashtra government also announced plans for a Disney theme park in Navi Mumbai.
In addition to the Disney park, the Haryana government is looking to elevate the International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra and is considering hosting the Surajkund fair three times annually.
