Tom Parker Bowles has dismissed rumours about the reported drinking and smoking habits of his mother, Queen Camilla. King Charles's stepson gave a new podcast interview in which he talked about the food the Queen likes while also discussing various rumours about her.

Mr Parker Bowles said that contrary to popular belief that his mother likes to "knock back a gin and tonic with a cigarette," the Queen does not even drink gin. He also said that the royal has stopped smoking for at least two decades now, while also revealing her drink of choice. He told Kate Thornton on the White Wine Question Time podcast: "Contrary to popular sort of stereotype, I've never in my whole life seen her even tipsy.

"Never. She doesn't drink gin, which is this whole thing, and she gave up fags 20 years ago. 30 years ago maybe."

Host Kate then went on to talk about the longstanding "myth" about the Queen, saying: "You're right, that kind of myth persists, doesn't it? That she likes to knock back a G and T with a cigarette?

Mr Parker Bowles replied: "Exactly. And, you know, and that was the case for a long time. But no, not gin.

"She likes red wine but is a very moderate and sensible drinker you know, I mean literally a glass and a half."

Elsewhere, he talked about his mother's food preferences, revealing that the Queen likes plain foods.

He explained: "If I did cook for her, it would probably be something like a piece of fish, she doesn't really eat a lot of meat.

"Yeah, it would be fish. Or maybe, you know, she does very good scrambled eggs."
