A man has been left in critical condition after a serious crash on the A30 in Cornwall, prompting its closure in both directions. The man in his 40s was hit by a Ford Mondeo towing a caravan between Camborne and Hayle in west Cornwall at 11.55 pm last night. The collision happened on the westbound side of the A30 near Roseworthy, just after the junction for Hayle. Officers have kept the A30 closed in both directions this morning while an investigation continues.

Police have appealed for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward. A spokesperson said: "The A30 westbound in the area at remains closed this morning while we continue to work at the scene. It is anticipated that it will reopen mid/late morning. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area where possible and to expect traffic disruption this morning."
