He has made a distinct identity for himself in the world of javelin. Before the NC Classic tournament, Neeraj honoured his coach, the Czech Republic’s great javelin thrower Jan Zelezny (world record holder of 98.48 meters). The NC Classic was earlier scheduled to be held in Panchkula, Haryana, but due to lack of light arrangements, it was held in Bengaluru.
