Strictly Come Dancing favourite Dianne Buswell has paid a heartfelt tribute to her beloved grandfather following his death at 99 years old. The professional dancer took to Instagram to share a montage of cherished memories with her grandfather. One particularly moving clip shows her surprising him, prompting his delightful reaction: "Well, I'll be," as he spots her. The montage also featured a playful exchange as Dianne walked alongside her grandad down a hallway, teasing: "Gonna have a race with me."
Dianne penned a poignant tribute to her grandfather: "Rest in peace pop [heart emojis] you were 99 years young [praying hands emoji], thank you for all the stories and I just know you will be up there dancing with Nan already." Dianne was flooded with support from friends and fans as Vito Coppola shared a heart alongside praying hands emoji, while Michelle Tsiakkas wrote: "I'm so sorry for your loss Di. Sending you and your family all my love."
One admirer shared: "99 years young and etched in our hearts forever. Sending you and the family all my love always."
Another supporter commented: "Oh I'm so sorry to hear this Di! Such sad news! What a legend your pop was! 99 years old! He'll be looking down on you in awe of what you're doing."
Her grandfather's passing comes heartbreakingly soon after losing her grandmother just weeks earlier. Back in March, she posted touching footage of her grandmother, writing: "Rest in peace nan. Love you very much."
Reflecting on her final farewell, Dianne shared her appreciation: "I'm so grateful I was home to say goodbye to such a special lady in my life. Now go be with pop he has been patiently waiting for you."
Last April, Dianne took to social media with joyous news that her father, Mark, had completed his gruelling 12-round chemotherapy course.
In an emotional tribute, she penned: "To my daddy you did it 6 months later and 12 rounds done. I am so so PROUD of you it's been a tough road but you have always done it with a smile and a thumbs up. I know you were scared and I know it was not easy but you have done it."
She continued by praising her mother's unwavering dedication during her father's battle, declaring: "And to my beautiful mum who has not left your side and been the best support system ever thank you. Us kids are so lucky to have you both we love you so much."
