Newcastle's Sean Longstaff has surprised fans and gone viral on social media, not for anything he did on the football pitch, but for his impressive fast-bowling display on the field.






The Newcastle United midfielder showcased his all-round sporting talent while playing for Tynemouth Cricket Club (TCC) in a Premier Division match on Saturday, July 5.
Representing TCC's first XI against Felling Cricket Club's top side, Longstaff bowled right-arm medium pace and struck gold with a textbook LBW dismissal. Wearing full cricket whites, he delivered a ball that nipped in sharply and caught the batter dead in front. The umpire didn't hesitate to raise his finger, and Longstaff's teammates erupted in celebration.
 








 
The moment, captured on video, quickly spread across social media platforms, with fans praising Longstaff's athletic versatility and clean bowling action.
Tynemouth Cricket Club went on to dominate the match, posting a solid 210 runs in their innings. In reply, Felling CC collapsed to just 71 all out, handing TCC a comfortable win.
Longstaff's unexpected cricket cameo has not only delighted fans but also highlighted his deep-rooted love for sport beyond football. His performance was a refreshing and entertaining crossover between two of England's most loved games.
